Gladding McBean - Franciscan El Patio
1934 - 1954

El Patio was the first dinnerware produced by Gladding McBean and the first
to carry the name Franciscan. Started in 1934, its simple lines and rich
colors made it the anchor of the Franciscan line for over 20 years. It's
classic beauty is still in demand today. The durability and quality made
into these pieces are why there is still a surprising amount of pieces
available for both the collector, and for everyday use.
To make browsing easier, we have divided the photos and information into several seperate pages.

El Patio Nuevo,
Experts tell us this pattern was only made one year, in 1935. It is two tone, with different gloss colors inside and out. This demitasse cream and sugar are the only pieces we have found. If you have any documentation or other pieces please email us. We would love to know more about this elusive variation.
